I figured it was about time I updated my neglected blog. Too much has happened to try and recap everything. Let me just tell you - it has been crazy! Micah turned a year old on Sept. 9th. It is so hard to believe that he is 1!! He is walking, saying only a few words (it is hard for him to get a word in with 4 older siblings!), he loves to climb, he is sleeping through the night (thank you God!!), he loves to eat and will eat anything placed in front of him - other than his birthday cake which he wanted nothing to do with! He is such a momma's boy - which warms my heart and makes it nearly impossible to get anything done when he is awake since he wants to be held or he wraps himself around my leg. He ADORES his siblings and wants to be where they are and right in the middle of the activity. He is 31 inches tall and is 24.5 lbs. He wears 12-18 months.
The rest of the kids started school the beginning of August. Ben is in 4th grade, Sam 3rd, Makayla 1st, and Nathan is in preschool. I am homeschooling all of them. It has been challenging but we are starting to get into a routine. We have found a home school co-op are excited to be a part of that. The kids are enjoying their classes and making new friends. As usual, we are busy with church activities. AWANA just started back. Jeff and I teach T&T with some awesome helpers. Ben and Sam are in our class, Makalya is in Sparks, and Nathan is a Cubbie.
Our life is busy and so crazy at times, but we thank God for the blessings of our children. Micah did not make me a mom - Ben and Makayla did. Micah was our surprise blessing from God. When I think back to not even 5 years ago - Jeff and I had no kids and we were devastated by infertility (or so we thought!). I became a mom November 2004. Our family went from 0-4 in 15 months! We were happy - our family was complete. God had other plans and surprised us with Micah. How awesome God is! Each of our kids are a miracle to us. 4 were miracles through adoption and 1 was a miracle through birth. Now - we are done! :-)
I will try to be better at this. Life just gets in the way sometimes.
