Catching up...

I haven't posted in a while, so I have some catching up to do! Makayla turned 5 on Nov. 14. She is growing up so fast! She is a beautiful, funny girl who loves to talk (where does she get that from??!!) and be silly.

On Nov.15 my mom and I boarded The Holiday - a Carnival cruise ship - and set off for Cozumel. It was a Christian girl's get- a-way cruise. My favorite author - Karen Kingsbury was one of the speakers, Other speakers and singers included Lisa Welchel, Dr. Gary Smalley, Point of Grace, Richie McDonald, Brother's Keeper, Micheal O'Brien, to name a few. It was awesome! We had so much fun - once I got over my sea sickness! Check out http://www.premierchristiancruises.com/ and click on the slide show for some of their pictures from the cruise.

After returning to Ohio, Jeff and I spent Thanksgiving there with our families. We also went and had pictures done for my mom and dad of all 10 of their grandkids. As much as I was dreading it (why wouldn't I be - 1 -8 year old, 1- 7 year old, 2- 6 year olds, 2 -five year olds, 2 -3 year olds, and 2- 2 year olds!!!) The kids did AWESOME - the people at Sears were totally amazed and kept bragging on them. Now - if we could've gotten their parents to behave....

Last week Sammy and Nathan got to experience their first snow. Last winter we were in Charlston, SC and you don't get much snow there. :-) Sammy was quite excited and Nathan was too until he got all bundled up to go out and I opened the door. He looked at me and said "no mommy, it's cold" He repeatedly pointed at the snow on our back deck and asked me to "move it". He finally went out and had a blast.

Nathan is talking so much now! We can understand most of what he is saying. He gets quite animated and uses a lot of hand gestures. He was driving me crazy the other day - doing typical 2 1/2 year old stuff. I was frustrated with him and fussing at him about something, when he put his hands on my face and said "mommy, you the best". I melted. My baby is growing up so fast. I came home the other day after going to a friend's house who just had a baby. I was telling the kids about the baby and Nathan kept saying "no baby mommy, no baby" He seemd a bit worried he was going to lose his standing in the family! Now, at night when I tuck him in, he wants me to hold him like a baby. How precious these moments are. I better get off here before I depress myself or talk myself into another "baby". :-)
